Very slow connection.

  1. Ensure you have anti virus present and run a scan to ensure no virus or spyware is sucking your bandwidth
  2. 'If you use any torrents to download songs or movies, ensure when not in use this is turned off by right clicking the icon near your clock and selecting close as this will continue to use your bandwidth and share your files to thousands of people across the internet slowing your connection and pushing up your usage.
  3. Check all cables
  4. If you have your own router installed, try it without the router plugged directly into your computer.
  5. Reboot Antenna, PC and any routers or attatched equipment
  6. If you have a router, ensure it is on channel 6 (Your manual should tell you how)

IP Conflict.

Reboot your PC or click let windows repair your connection if you have that option come up.

PS3/XboxWII - Gaming Does Not Work

Gaming has been blocked by the network but may be opened up when a new tariff is designed and we can be assured it wont effect the overall networks performance.

I don't have any anti virus.

Part of your contract with us for broadband is that you protect our network from harm such as virus or spyware attacks by installing an anti virus system on your own equipment.

We recommend Avira Anti virus, Kaspersky and AVG paid service You can obtain the free versions from:

Avira

http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html

kaspersky Free Trial

AVG Free Trial

http://www.avg.com/us-en/download-trial

We do NOT recommend Norton or McAffee due to the amount of load they put on systems which cause network slowdowns.
